recall of cilantro

Pacific International Marketing is working with the Food and Drug Administration and the California Department of Public Health to coordinate a recall of cilantro for potential contamination with Salmonella. The product was distributed to retailers in California, Arizona, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Indiana, South Carolina, and Maryland. The cilantro was sold in a bunch twist ties under the Pacific label (UPC 0 33383 80104 9) and three bunch bags under the Pacific label (UPC 7 40695 80104 8) and would have been purchased between November 16 and December 10, 2011.

There have been no illnesses reported to date. The cilantro was recalled as the result of a positive FDA test from product taken at the distributor level. The source of the contamination is unknown.

Consumers who have purchased the cilantro are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. They can also contact Pacific International Marketing:
